The section Business Solutions – Asset Management delivers value to the business area Asset Management through the execution of transformation projects, application development, management of IT products, and consulting.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Project Manager for the business area MEAG Public Markets Back Office.
As a Project Manager, you will be accountable for executing a diverse range of projects that support one or more lines of business. You’ll have the responsibility to deliver results on time and budget, working with global teams across a range of IT disciplines including Architecture, Service Delivery, Application Teams and external service providers and vendors.

Your job

  • Establish and maintain processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards and assessing risks
  • Ensure adherence and adoption of Munich RE’s project management methodology – ‘MR Essentials’
  • Defining project objectives, project scope, roles & responsibilities
  • Defining resource requirements and managing resource availability & allocation – both internal and third party
  • Outlining a budget based on requirements and tracking costs to deliver project on budget.
  • Preparing a detailed project plan to schedule key project milestones, workstreams & activities. Managing delivery of the project according to this plan
  • Tracking project and providing regular reports on project status to project team and key stakeholders
  • Managing and adjusting for any changes in project scope, schedule and/or budget, in accordance with approved authorities and change processes
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks
  • Managing the relationship and communication with the client and all stakeholders, ensuring the project is delivered to their satisfaction


Your profile

  • University degree preferably in Computer engineering/IT, Business Administration, Liberal Arts, Social Sciences or similar qualification
  • Several years of experience in delivering IT or digital projects preferably in Financial Services or a regulated industry.
  • Advanced business knowledge about asset and investment management processes and a good understanding of the technical asset management infrastructure is an asset; ideally familiar with our core system SimCorp Dimension
  • Successful coordination of project deliverables based on an understanding of the customer needs
  • Ability to manage project costs and budgets to agreed baselines
  • Demonstrated personal organizational skills and ability to coordinate the efforts of others involved in the delivery of projects, including negotiating deadlines and commitments
  • Demonstrated ability to work globally across businesses and international cultures to deliver results
  • Preferably, you are already ITIL, Scrum or PMI certified or have the readiness to pursue one with our support
  • Recognized as proactive and with high problem solving competence
  • Fluent command of Business English and German
